Montessori Assistant Director

Claire's Montessori, a private Montessori school for students ages 6 weeks to 12 years, seeks an Assistant Director effective February 2018.

The Assistant Directors primary role is a twofold: (1) to sustain and nourish a skilled, experienced faculty in their work with children, parents, curriculum, and colleagues; and (2) to assure the integrity and quality of the scope and sequence of the educational program from Infant to Elementary. To that end, the Assistant Director works hard to maximize coordination and communication between the many people, elements, and components that compromise Claires Montessori International Academy.

The Assistant Director in this top ' management, 12 ' month administrative position is an integral part of a strong educational team and helps provide forward ' looking leadership for an exemplary Montessori program.

The Assistant Director reports directly to the Director and is responsible for the school in her absence.

With the Director, the Assistant Director will continue to implement the educational elements for the Toddler through Elementary programs, and discuss in ' depth discussions regarding issues as student ' learning style, innovative science instruction, and the sue of technology in the Montessori environment.

The Assistant Director insures the integrity of the educational proram from Infant through Elementary. They will maintain and oversee the full scope and sequence of the curriculum and compare it with the state and national standard to make certain that Claires Montessori meets or exceed standards in all areas. With the scope and sequence in place, the Assistant Director helps provide strategies and templates for regular progress reporting to parents and students, as well as, record ' keeping methods for the staff.

The Assistant Director is an accomplished Montessori teacher with Montessori certification at Elementary with an overview of Primary or both Primary and Elementary levels. Knowledge of psycho- educational evaluation; an understanding of various learning styles; experience with progress reporting, parent ' teacher conferencing, and parent education; insight into issues surrounding each point of student transition, and; an academic and / or practical knowledge of the full scope and sequence of the Montessori Curriculum from Infant through Elementary.

An understanding of and respect for AMS training, philosophy, and approach are critical, as a strong communication and interpersonal skills.
